Organization

Eight players stand in a circle, and two defenders are placed in the middle of it.

Description

  • Players perform an 8 v 2 piggy in the middle
  • When one of the two defenders in the center retrieves the ball, he takes the place of the player whose ball was intercepted
  • Players have a maximum of two touches

Coaching Points

  • Very useful exercise to train retention of the ball in numerical superiority
  • The exercise helps to put the player in the best condition to face the next activities (training, match)
  • Useful warm-up exercise to increase cardiovascular and muscular activity
  • Players should perform the rondo at a fast pace
  • Encourage the two defenders to predict in advance the intentions of the 8 players to make sure they close the passing lines as soon as possible
