Inside the field, on one side of the goal, create a small zone (G zone). Between the penalty area and the pitch sideline, create a rectangle of 12x16 meters (zone 2). Inside of it, on the baseline, delimit another zone (cross zone, light blue in the picture). Next to the rectangle create a square of 12x12 meters and inside of it place a coordination circuit: three hoops and a speed ladder as shown in the picture (zone 1). Place a marker on the opposite side of the field as shown in the picture: it's the starting point for the attacker. Three players start the drill: a white attacker inside zone 1, a red defender inside zone 2 and another attacker on the marker. At each starting point place another player waiting for their turn. At the end of each series rotate players positions.
- White player performs motor circuit inside the first square, with one-foot jumps inside the hoops, stopping on one leg and maintaining the position for 2 seconds
- Then the player runs on the ladder at maximum speed (one touch per space)
- Player controls the ball at the end of the ladder and moves inside the next zone, where they duel 1 v 1 with the red defender, trying to reach cross zone (light blue)
- If the white player enters the cross zone, they perform a cross pass for a teammate inside the area, in order to finish first intention
- If the white player enters the cross zone, the defender cannot follow them. White player has one ball touch to control and pass it
- If the defender recovers the ball, they can score 1 point by passing it to the goalkeeper that has moved inside G zone
- Attacker has free ball touches to dribble the opponent during 1 v 1
- Rotate players' positions after each series
- Vary the execution of the speed ladder (for example: sideways run, two touches per space...)
- Pay attention to the execution of the motor circuit (support of the feet, body posture, arms, jumping technique)
- Encourage the attacker to target the defender at speed
- Encourage the attacker to perform feints and changes of direction to win the 1 v 1
- Encourage the defender to maintain the correct body posture
- Pay attention to the right timing for the second attacker
