Divide the space from the edge of the penalty area to the midfield into six zones, with the two central ones wider. Divide the players into two teams of eight. In each lateral rectangle place one player per team while in the two central ones place a pair per team. Place three mini-goals as in the picture. The goalkeeper defends the goal.
- The action starts from the goalkeeper of the team in possession lined up with a 4-4 system
- The team in possession must build up the play while respecting their space to score on one of the three mini-goals placed beyond the halfway line
- Try to get behind the opponent's line
- 2 v 2 in the center and 1 v 1 on the sides
- Look for through pass with diagonal movements
- Respect one's own space of competence
- Two-touch play
- When the player in non-possession retrieves the ball, they must make at least one pass before shooting on goal
- For players with ball possession:
- It is important that the drill is carried out at high intensity
- Take care of the first control and orientation of the open body toward teammates and the game
- Make passes with the right intensity
- Take care of the technical aspect of receiving and passing
- Maintain the right distances with the right timing
- Try to get the player used to knowing where to make the play before receiving the ball
- Pay attention to the timing of plays once out of the opponent's pressing
- Players must be able to interpret the tactical situation
- Encourage cuts
- Maintain eye contact and call “man on” or “time” as needed
- Encourage one-two and external and internal triangulations
- On loss of the ball, quick attitudinal change from offensive to defensive
- For players without ball possession:
- Focus on winning the ball
- Close down passing lines and spaces
- Look for the interception
- Execute coordinated movements
- Encourage offensive transition
- On winning the ball, rapid attitudinal change from defensive to offensive
