Create a playing area consisting of four squares (rondos) of 4×4 meters, 2 meters apart. Divide the players into offensive and defensive players (as in the picture) so that one defender stays inside each rondo and four offensive players can actively participate in two rondos at a time (constant change of orientation) creating 4v1 or 3v1 situations. Ball to one of the offensive players in each rondo.
- On the coach's go, the offensive players begin possession simultaneously on the outside of the rondos creating 4v1 and 3v1 situations
- Four players participate in two rondos at a time, constantly changing body orientation
- The defenders inside the squares aim to recover the ball
- When defenders recover the ball, they switch positions with the player who lost possession
- Free touches available
- Role changes occur when the defender recovers the ball
- Limit ball touches
- Change the defender with each set and not with each ball recovery
- Closer rondos
- Coach:
- Careful to put the balls back into play
- Practice location: place it in an area of the field in which it is possible not to lose too many balls, such as in a corner
- Location of coach and balls: in the center of the squares
- Have clear concepts to work on to give accurate messages
- Avoid giving too many directions: the drill requires a lot of concentration from the players
- Gratify positive behaviors; if an error needs to be corrected, plan when it is most appropriate to do so
- Ball carrier:
- Controls allow more time for teammates playing in more than one rondo
- Attention to position adjustment movements
- Receiver:
- 180° orientation
- Looking before receiving
- Position yourself so you can see the two squares and teammates
- Lateral supports
