Ball transmission and reception in groups of three to work on peripheral vision |
Visual perception, Pass, First touch, Oriented control |
Organization
Create a 20×20-meter/22×22-yard field using the markers. Inside the field, arrange the players into three groups, each consisting of three players, with each group having one ball.
Description
- At the coach's signal, each group of players must pass the ball continuously, following a predetermined order (e.g., A-B-C)
- After making the pass, each player must move into the free space
- The player who is about to receive the ball or who is already in possession of it must use their peripheral vision to check the position of the teammate to whom they must pass the ball
- At the end of the series, the group that has managed to make the most consecutive passes scores a point
Rules
- Players must pass the ball in rotation
- After passing the ball, players must move around the space and not remain stationary
- At the end of the series, the group that performs the most consecutive passes scores the point
Variations
- Divide the field into four zones and require each player to occupy one zone; after passing the ball, each player must move to the zone that is not occupied by any other player
- Add a fourth team to increase the difficulty of the exercise
Coaching Points
- Key points: peripheral vision of the player receiving the ball, who must simultaneously keep an eye on the space, teammates, and opponents
- Dribbling: we encourage players to keep moving at all times, so that the teammate receiving the ball can train their peripheral vision as much as possible
- Corrections: pay attention to the body position of the player controlling the ball to keep them focused on the ball and the teammate to whom they must pass it next
