Between the edge of the penalty area and the midfield circle, form a diamond with either four mannequins or four pairs of crossed posts (as shown in the picture). The four mannequins form a rhombus/diamond with sides about 15 meters/16 yards long. Near the midfield line stands player A who starts the passing sequence with the ball from the starting cone. To the right and left of the mannequin placed on the midfield circle (low vertex of the rhombus) place two markers. About 3 meters from the right mannequin, outside of it, place a third marker where player C is positioned. Player B goes next to the mannequin closest to the edge of the penalty area (top vertex of the diamond). The goalkeeper defends the goal.
- Player A starts driving the ball by aiming at the mannequin in front of them and decides whether to move to the right or left to find a passing line
- A passes the ball, making it pass between the marker and the mannequin, to teammate B on the movement coming to the ball
- B, with one touch, performs a lateral discharge (come to the ball) for teammate C who moves in front of their own mannequin with an anticipation movement
- C, after controlling the ball towards the inside of the field, with a diagonal pass, serves the player A who, in the meantime, is making an unmarking movement passing behind the left mannequin (switch of play)
- C performs a passing movement behind the right mannequin and sprints towards the edge of the penalty area to receive the deep pass from teammate A
- C concludes on goal with a shot from the edge of the penalty area
When the action is over, the three players reverse positions: A goes in place of B, B in place of C, and C retrieves the ball and goes in place of A
- Execute the passing sequences with passing movements both to the right and left of the goal to be attacked. When developing on the left, player C goes at the start on the left side mannequin instead of the right side mannequin
- The exercise can also be carried out with several players divided into trios working alternately (thus giving players more recovery time to return to their starting positions at the end of the action)
- Always receive passes on the move to work on unmarking
- The exercise allows you to work on oriented control, the technical gesture of coming to the ball, and the shot on goal
- Perform movements with the right timing (do not anticipate the teammate's pass)
- Dose the right strength in passes to facilitate the next play
- Rotation between teammates should be done with good dynamism
- Take care of the timing of the meeting movement and the quality of the first pass
- Perform passing sequences with high intensity
