Organization
Form a 20x10 rectangle using 4 cones inside the playing area. Place 2 markers 3 meters distant from the cones, as shown in the picture. Players stand in 2 lines of 6 players each behind the starting cones. Give a ball to players from line A.
Description
- Player A carries the ball to the marker in front of him toward player B, while B sprints toward the opposite cone to the starting point and surrounds it
- A passes the ball to B
- B performs an oriented control and carries the ball to the marker that is in front of the starting point of A, while player A sprints towards to cone in front of him and surrounds it
- B passes the ball to A
- A passes back the ball to B on first intention
- A sprints to the starting point of B and vice versa swaping the starting positions
- Repeat the exercise during the whole series
Variations
- Adapt the dimensions of the field to the technical level of players
- Perform the 2nd pass as if it was a throw-in with the successive oriented control
Coaching Points
- Encourage players to maintain a high rhythm
- The foot must be slightly loose, this gives the possibility to amortize the impact with the ball for a better oriented control
-
Remind players that the movement of the body after the oriented control is to protect the ball from a possible opponent
-
Pay attention to the distance and the direction the of the supporting foot during the pass
-
The player during the pass has to complete the skill after shooting by accompanying the ball trajectory
