Using the standard goal at the end of the field, create a playing area measuring 40x32 meters/44x35 yards (width corresponding to the penalty area and depth of approximately 32 meters/35 yards) with the markers. Use the markers to divide the field into two playing areas (AREA 1 and AREA 2) of equal size. Inside AREA 1, furthest from the goal, place two defenders (players in blue shirts in the picture) against four attackers (players in red in the picture). Inside AREA 2, place one red attacker and one goalkeeper to defend the goal.
- At the coach's signal, inside AREA 1, the red team starts possession with a numerical advantage of 4 v 2 blue defenders
- The red team's objective is to make a minimum of six consecutive passes without being intercepted by their opponents
- After six consecutive passes, the red team can make a pass inside AREA 2 to one of their teammates (red attacker)
- The attacker has a maximum of two touches to shoot at the goal (control and shot)
- A blue defender may enter AREA 2 to try to block the attacker's shot (example in the picture)
- After the attacker's successful or unsuccessful shot, play always resumes with the red team in possession of the ball inside AREA 1
- Players in possession of the ball in a 4 v 2 situation in AREA 1 have a maximum of three touches
- The attacker in AREA 2 has a maximum of two touches to finish (one-touch shot or receive and shoot)
- At the end of each series, rotate the players acting as defenders with two attackers: in this way, all players will cover the roles of defenders and attackers, diversifying their tasks and requirements
- Place a player in active defense on the attacker in AREA 2
- The red player who assists their attacker can enter AREA 2 to create a 2 v 1 situation (two attackers against one defender)
- Do not limit the number of touches during ball possession
- Adjust the playing space according to the age and abilities of your team
- Encourage your players to reach the final pass quickly; numerical superiority must be exploited to the maximum
- When not in possession, the two defenders must try to close down every passing lane and isolate the ball carrier
- Encourage the attacker in AREA 2 to move continuously into the free space to receive the through ball
- Encourage the attacker to shoot quickly or dribble past the defender if challenged and then follow up with a quick finish
- Verbal communication while in possession of the ball
