Organization
Create a playing field of 15x15 meters/16x16 yards with markers where two teams of three players each will perform ball possession. Create to the right of the playing field another smaller field (about 10x10 meters/11x11 yards) with four different colored markers placed at the vertices. In the center of each side of this second field place a mini goal (as in the picture). In this field two players will perform a 1 v 1 aimed at finishing. There are then two support players (who have a neutral role), placed on the outside of the two playing squares, on the boundary between the two.
Description
- The two teams (red vs. white) carry out a 3 v 3 ball possession inside the larger field - green zone
- When all players of a team have touched the ball (three consecutive passes) they can look for a support player outside the zone
- When the support player receives the ball, they must pass it to the player of the same team who passed the ball to them located in the other smaller field
- The offensive player (red in the picture), upon receiving the ball, plays a 1v1 against the defender (white in the picture) with the aim of finishing in one of the four goals
- If the defender in the small field regains the ball they have to serve their teammates again inside the larger field
- If the offensive player scores or does not finish, the action always starts again in the larger field, with the opposing team in possession of the ball
Rules
- Free ball touches available to players in both zones of play
- At the end of each series replace the support players on both teams
- At the end of each series replace the two players facing each other in the 1v1
Variations
- Reduce the touches available to players performing ball possession (e.g., a maximum of three touches)
- Increase or decrease the size of the squares depending on the number of players and their abilities
- In the second square perform a 2v1, taking advantage of a teammate's insertion from the first square or the outside flank
Coaching Points
- Maximum intensity and focus
- Precision in passing
- Accuracy and speed when finishing
- The support players must constantly move on the outside to make themselves free at all times
- The two players in the smaller field must be ready to react quickly to the game situation: adapt to the role of attacker to receive and finish or take position as a defender marking the opponent to not allow an easy reception
