Create a playing field measuring 30×15 meters/33×16 yards and divide it into two halves. Place a goal on both short sides of the field. Divide the players into two teams of four. On one half of the field, play 3 v 3 with the ball for the attacking team, while on the other half place the remaining teammate from both teams (as shown in the picture). Create two 5-meter-wide side lanes on both long sides of the field. Place a neutral player inside each lane (as in the picture) The goalkeepers defend the goals.
- The exercise starts with a 3 v 3 in one half of the field with possession for the attacking team, which must try to score
- If the defending team regains possession, it must try to pass the ball to the teammate in the opponent's half of the field, attempting to create a quick counterattack
- The two neutral players always play with the team in possession and provide width to the action to facilitate a possible counterattack
- If the defending team, after regaining possession, manages to pass the ball to a teammate in the opponent's half of the field, two teammates and two opponents can move to the same half of the field
- At the end of each series, replace the two outside neutral players
- Jokers have a maximum of two touches
- Limit the number of touches by the team in possession
- Create triangles of possession to avoid the opposing player, trapping them inside the triangles themselves
- Focus on reacting to negative transitions: when possession is lost, the player closest to the ball presses the opponent while teammates move closer
- After regaining possession, encourage players to play as quickly as possible towards the forward to train a very offensive positive transition
- Encourage players to make counter-movements to lose the marker and receive the ball
