For this exercise, use the standard goal at the end of the field and one half of the field. The initial phase of the exercise takes place inside the penalty area with goalkeeper A positioned between the posts. The coach stands near the corner kick with a good supply of balls, while the three goalkeepers B, C, and D assist by positioning themselves respectively at the top of the penalty area opposite the coach's position (B), 35 meters/38 yards away (C) on the opposite side from the coach's position (mid-distance), and on the midfield line (D).
- Goalkeeper A makes an high dive on a cross by the coach
- After catching the ball, through a positive transition, they prepare to play the ball with teammates B, C, and D positioned at different distances
- While A makes the transition, the remaining goalkeepers decide whether to turn away (with their backs to them) or propose themselves to receive the ball
- Goalkeeper A must be quick to read the situation and pass the ball in the simplest way to the teammate who is ready to receive it (not turned away)
- If there are several teammates ready, the closest one should be given priority
- If all teammates have their backs turned, A must call the attention of the furthest teammate (D) positioned near the halfway line and make a long kick with the feet
- If there are several teammates ready, the closest one should be given priority for passing the ball
- If all teammates have their backs turned, A must pass the ball to the furthest one positioned in the middle of the field
- Goalkeeper A can choose independently or on the coach's instructions whether to pass the ball with their hands or feet, taking care to use all ball-throwing techniques
- After 8 consecutive repetitions, rotate the goalkeepers' positions in the various roles
- The coach's cross towards the center of the area must be taken from both sides of the goal (right corner and left corner), with goalkeepers B, C, and D moving to the opposite side of the ball
- Focus on defensive technique principles (defending space)
- Focus on offensive technique principles (types of passing)
- Ability and speed in assessing the game situation
- Focus on technique and speed of passing
- Focus on high dive technique (timing and jumping technique, body posture, reading ball trajectories, coordination)
